I love my Google Home(s). I have a Google Home and a Google Home Mini. The Mini is in our bedroom. We use it to listen to music, send videos to our TV, and now...we use it to turn the bedroom light on and off! It never failed. Each night when we went to bed, one of us would have to lean over and shut off a light...OR the reading light we have mounted to our headboard has a switch that is hard to reach. If one of us was half-asleep, you can be sure we were wide awake by the time we figured out how to get the light switch turned off. Now? We simply say..."Ok Google...turn off the light". When we walk into the bedroom? "Ok Google...turn the light on". We can even turn the light on from other rooms and even from across the world using our smartphones! Crystal once used it to get my attention when I had my headphones on! The Belkin Wemo makes this possible without spending an arm and a leg for a smart lighting system like Phillips Hue. I simply wanted something simple like a remote control outlet. That's exactly what the Wemo is...a remote control electrical outlet! I got mine at Home Depot, but they're available at many retailers and online for between $25 and $30. Works with the Amazon Echo (Alexa) and Google Home (Assistant).
