For years I have fought the headphone battle in my lab. In the beginning it was cheap headphones that broke constantly. Then I found Highsmith headphones that were very durable and rugged, however they were big for small heads and tended to come unplugged all the time since the plug wasn't as long as it should be. (allowed for a screw on 1/4" adapter which seemed to affect the normal 3.5mm plug)
This year I I'm come one step closed to the holy grail of headphones. Fantastic price and great durability along with a plug that stays plugged into the computers! Shopping around on various sites, I finally stumbled on the Egghead Stereo School Headphone with Leatherette Ear Cushion on Amazon. I bought 40 (2 x 20pk) for less than I had budgeted for just 25 of the Highsmith Headphones. So far they've been awesome. The kids like them better and they take up a lot less room on the desktop. The only drawback is that I've yet to find a good tangle-proof cord in an affordable school headphone. Egghead does have a few more expensive headphones with braided cords that I might try next year. What I did was order one of each brand of heaphone that I wanted to try and once I found the one I want (the Eggheads), I ordered a bunch of them.
