I live 3.5 miles from my school. I pull out of the driveway and off I go only to glance back and wonder if I shut the garage door.
This happened one too many times. It had become automatic to the point where I never really paid attention to whether or not I actually closed it. So, when I learned about the Chamberlain MyQ, I snatched it up. I thought I'd need an expensive new garage door opener system. Nope. All I needed was the Chamberlain MyQ Garage door hub. It's simple to set up. Simply mount the door sensor using the double sided sticky tape, mount the hub near the garage door opener, plug it into power (mine is plugged into the same outlet as the garage door opener), download the app and follow the programming instructions to connect to your garage door system and your wifi. Now when I can't remember if I closed the door, I just look on my smartphone and check. If I forgot, I simply close the door.
It's also handy when you need to let someone into your house when you're not home. They simply call you, you remotely open the door, and have them call you when they leave so you can close it again. Pretty cool huh? Not bad for about $80. Well worth the peace of mind.
