Last spring I got an XTool D1 laser cutter/engraver for my classroom. This thing is super cool! I will also add that I also got an enclosure for it that makes it a lot safer to use with students. No need to worry about fumes and laser light. We built a simple, but effective exhaust fan system that allows us to remove any smoke (very light) and fumes from the cutting/engraving process. We've been making all sorts of things, but I really look forward to tackling some cool projects with the kids. One idea we have is to make a huge wall mounted Rube Goldberg using a combination of laser cut items (wood) and 3D printed parts.
