This is one of my favorite teaching tools. If you watched my video on the really cool interactive touchscreen TV system that I built, you saw how much I use and love the Kensington Wireless Handheld Keyboard. It's a great tool that allows you to get away from your computer and still be in control. I can now teach from anywhere in the room without lugging around a laptop or a big wireless keyboard and mouse. I don't even have to carry around a tablet. This little tool fits in my pocket and allows me to wander and teach as I want. If you're looking to free yourself up from the front of the room...give one a try! Check out my video and see how I use it in my classroom!

UPDATE: I love my Kensington Wireless Handheld Keyboard, but after a few years it's showing signs of wear. I think I broke the on/off switch. When looking around online I found the Kensington device a little hard to find. It's also a bit pricey. I started looking around and found a different device that connects by either Bluetooth or wireless 2.4ghz (with a little dongle). This gives me choices when I go to use the keyboard with different devices. There are many devices on the market, but I chose the Rii Mini Wireless keyboard (see below). One feature I like is the backlit keys for use in a darker environment. The backlight can be turned off with a simple key combo. I also love that it's rechargeable...no more batteries!
